ABOUT THE AUTHOR of " NOT Just Desserts "
Andrea Spano is a po
pular Internet Cooking Expert. Her countless free cooking videos are featured and viewed by millions on eHow.com, 5Min.com, Answerbag.com, and all over YOUTUBE. Andrea realized her artistic talent in her early 20’s after creating a teddy bear cake for her nephew, Robert, for his 2nd birthday. It was such a huge success, she enrolled in cake decorating classes and started her own company, “That Delicate Touch”.The next several years were spent creating beautiful character cakes for all occasions, specializing in children’s theme parties. Discovering this new
passion lead her to enroll in the Culinary Arts program of the New York Restaurant School, where she graduated with honors in 1986.
Upon graduation, an opportunity to begin a partnership with her brother-in-law, Steven, in his café in Rutherford, New Jersey was presented to her, which she readily accepted. With Steven’s expertise and experience in the food industry and Andrea’s newly acquired skills, they embarked on a very successful partnership which included up-scaling his well-known establishment. After 8 years of a very rewarding journey at “STEVE & ANDREA’S RESTAURANT”, she realized her love of baking and creating desserts was something she wished to pursue further. Steven became the sole proprietor of the restaurant, and “DESSERTS BY ANDREA” was born. After several years of creating wonderful desserts for her clientele, she was inspired to write “Not Just Desserts”, a beautiful collection of fantastic confections and delectable savory food recipes from her “restaurant experience” days. Also included are captivating stories, memoirs and interesting baking and food facts, which add a depth to this cookbook unique in this category. Andrea continues to delight her customers with her delicious menu of tortes, cheesecakes, layer cakes and other extraordinary dessert creations.
